TECHNOLOGY AND A GLOBAL WORLD

Recent technological achievements have made indelible marks on globalization. There has been total transformation in the manner in which industries and corporations organize their production, invest capital, trade goods; and also in how they develop products, services, and processes. New discoveries in information system and information technology are now key aspects of most industries globally. This is because it forms part of the business strategies and has the ability to communicate and process information in a digital form. Every successful business that operates on a global scale (and even at a local level) cannot do without having an exceptional information technology system which would help to facilitate interconnectedness between the company and the world.

The advancement in technology includes the use of computers, hardware, software, mobile phones, and artificial intelligence. These technologies help to access other countries' information system and ease communication process. They also increase the ability of the business to gather data and develop their economic potential. The advent of the internet and internet-based tools has made the spread of information and global communication easier. Thus, it has created an enabling environment for globalization. We must note also the role of software and hardware in facilitating globalization.

Hardware and software have helped to connect people and systems around the world. Hence, they have played pertinent roles in facilitating globalization. The rise of artificial intelligence has made us realize that there are computer systems that can carry out task that usually require human intelligence.

This includes speech recognition, visual perception, decision-making, and translation between languages. These skills which are worked into a computer system makes it easy to expand beyond the shores of one country to many others in different ways. With a computer system that accommodates visual perception, decision making, and speech recognition skills, companies can save money and time by easily expanding without having to pass through the trouble of training more employees.

It, therefore, becomes relatively easier to develop business in other countries as there is less human error, fewer language barriers, and the system is programmed to handle specific inquiries related to the location by systematic forward planning of strategy and task analysis.

These functions are advantageous and translation between languages is especially helpful for companies whose global strategy include business in other parts of the world where different languages are spoken. A fast and trusted communication system is requisite to running a smooth global business for any corporation or industry in the global business sector. As a result of advancements in information

technology, devices such as personal computers, networks, and mobile phones have greatly furthered the course of globalization at a very past pace and on a large scale. These advances have facilitated frequent communication between companies in many more ways than ever. The resultant effect of this is that doing business on a global scale has now become an attainable fea

The use of emails, messaging, and making calls on cell phones now allows employees to contact each other across time zones and continents for the efficient and effective conduct of business activities. Computer networks let companies that operate on a global scale provide immediate services whenever and wherever these services are needed. For example, if a customer submits a request and it is transmitted across the globe. This is often done without the customer realizing the request is

being attended to by somebody from the other side of the world due to the efficiency of the system. The development in information technology and systems has greatly reduced the spacio-temporal barriers of doing business on an international level. David O. Stephens in his essay "The Globalization of Information Technology in Multinational Corporations;" published in the Information Management Journal; asserts that the goal of information is:

to create globally integrated information infrastructures that electronically link their entire supply chains—their sales, production, and delivery processes—into one seamless flow of information across national borders and time zones, with both real-time and store-and-forward access to information from any location. An advanced information technology system equals to globalization and globalization is a harbinger of a

competitive global business. Companies that wish to maintain a competitive edge in the global business markets must merge their technology infrastructures and information systems on an international scale. Information technology system is the tour de force of globalization and it will continue to connect people and business for the purpose of providing products and services to various customers around the world.

The Influence of Technology on Art

We all are living witnesses and can testify to the influence of technology on art. It has become a glaring fact that technology can influence virtually every sphere of human existence, including art. Traditional form of art is fast becoming digitalized. And now, digital art explores itself in so many ways beyond human imagination . Various software

have been developed to increase the presence of digital art. For instance, we now have Photoshop artists; who are the commonest digital artists; whose job is to make pictures look amazing by deploying imaging software and other applications. These applications could not have been in existence without the help of technology.

These days, anyone with good knowledge and proficiency in Photoshop can become a digital artist. The difference between a digital artist and traditional artist is that the latter uses paints and cement to produce their works of art while the former uses imaging software and a variety of other application to produce his or her work of art.
